"Azerbaijan Airlines" CJSC (AZAL) signed an agreement with "DFS Aviation Services" to equip Lachin International Airport with the advanced "Phoenix" air traffic control system.

The agreement on the expansion of cooperation was signed between Farkhan Guliyev, director of AZAL's "Azeraeronavigation" Air Traffic Management (AZANS), and executive director of "DFS Aviation Services" Andreas Petch, at the prestigious "Passenger Terminal Expo 2024" conference held in Frankfurt-Main.
DFS Aviation Services, part of the DFS Group, is a German provider of air navigation services and one of the world leaders in this field.
The contract in question covers the provision of Lach International Airport with the advanced Phoenix air traffic control system. This step emphasizes AZAL's contribution to sustainable development and improving the quality of services provided.
The "Phoenix" system, known for its efficiency and reliability, is successfully operating in the six air traffic control towers of AZANS at the airports of Azerbaijan, including Fuzuli and Zangilan airports. In addition, the system is used as a backup system for the Main Air Traffic Management Center of "Azeraeronavigation" Air Traffic Management.
It is reported that within the framework of successful cooperation, AZANS and "DFS Aviation Services" are working on various initiatives.
It should be noted that AZANS and the National Aviation Academy are implementing the project of creating a single center for the training of air traffic controllers in Azerbaijan. This center will be equipped with training materials and standards of DFS Aviation Services.
