The policy of sanctions generally has no right to exist, especially when these sanctions are illegal and are applied in a completely unjustified and selective manner.

Axar.az reports that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said this while answering a question about the sanctions imposed on Russia to "Russia-1" channel.

"Therefore, we are strongly against any sanctions, and I think that the international community should express its position in a unified manner. We express this position in relation to all the sanctions applied against us at the national level, and not only against us," the head of state emphasized.

According to Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has announced its position in this regard.

"Sanctions were imposed on us in 1992 under the false accusation that we blockaded Armenia while our territories were under Armenian occupation," the President noted, adding that in 2001, the United States took its cargo from the territory of Azerbaijan by air, land and sea. was canceled when it was necessary to transport to Afghanistan.

"Every year, the President of the United States, regardless of party affiliation, revoked these sanctions by his own decision. Until the US fled Afghanistan. "When I accuse them of ingratitude, I think that this is not the harshest word that can be used in this context," the country's leader said.
