The Aeronautical Accidents Investigation and Prevention Center of the Brazilian Air Force has completed the decoding of flight recorders (black boxes) from the Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane that crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan.
Axar.az reports this information was published by Brazil's G1 portal.
"The extraction, collection, and verification of data from the two recording devices have been completed," the report stated.
The department has already sent the relevant information to Kazakh authorities.
It should be noted that on December 25, an AZAL plane operating the Baku-Grozny flight came under attack from a "Pantsir" system in Grozny's airspace and was damaged. Denied permission to land in Russian territory, the plane diverted to Kazakhstan but crashed near Aktau Airport. The crash resulted in 38 deaths, with 29 survivors.
The plane's black boxes were sent to Brazil for decoding.
