President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening of a newly created park in the area called "Antena" near the "Ganjlik" metro station in Baku.

Axar.az reports that the head of the Baku City Executive Power Eldar Azizov provided detailed information about the conditions created in the new park.

The work carried out to further modernize and improve our capital continues in parallel with the construction of green belts and parks. Another such recreation area is a new park being built in the Narimanov district - near the "Ganjlik" metro station, at the intersection of Vagif Avenue, Jeyhun Hajibeyli, Shamsi Rahimov, and Nasib bey Yusifbeyli streets, following the decrees of the President of Azerbaijan dated August 18, 2023 and January 13, 2024.

The head of state and the first lady got acquainted with the conditions created in the park.

Some of the buildings in this area, known as the “Antena” area, which were in bad condition, were demolished. After the demolition work, the park’s area was further expanded and brought to 19 hectares.

The existing historical administrative building on the park’s territory was preserved and restoration work was carried out on the building.

In the newly built park, excellent conditions were created in a short time for the efficient organization of residents’ and guests’ leisure time. Thus, two restaurants that meet modern requirements were built here. A fountain was also installed here. This gives additional beauty to the recreation area.

Green areas were laid out on 14 hectares of the territory of the modern recreation complex, and more than 20 thousand trees and bushes were planted. An automatic irrigation system, water and fire tanks, a pump house, and security surveillance cameras were installed in the park. Also, the lighting system was built following the most modern standards based on a new project. Pedestrian and bicycle paths were laid in the park, and sports grounds equipped with modern training equipment for children and outdoor activities were created.

An underground passage connecting the new park with the nearby “Dede Gorgud” park has also been built. This also creates conditions for the safe and comfortable movement of residents.

In recent years, development and reconstruction work has been widely carried out in all regions of Azerbaijan, including Baku. To provide a high level of comfort and recreation for the population, new parks and numerous green belts have been built, and existing parks and alleys have been fundamentally reconstructed. These implemented projects, in addition to changing the face of Baku and the regions, also play an important role in improving the ecological situation in our country.

The newly commissioned park is also of great importance in terms of making our capital even more beautiful, increasing the number of green corners in the city, and providing people with effective recreation.
