Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has rejected US President Donald Trump's offer to release Ruben Vardanyan, the former "minister of state" of the so-called regime in Karabakh, who is imprisoned in Baku.
Axar.az reports that the "Hraparak" newspaper wrote about this.
"Ruben Vardanyan's family and friends are doing everything in their power to secure his release. Prominent Armenian figures have contacted and negotiated with the husband of Trump's daughter. The US leader has agreed to interfere with Yerevan's offer on this matter. This issue was conveyed to Pashinyan through the Armenian Ambassador to the US, Lilit Makunts. All that was needed for the official receipt of the head of the White House was a piece of paper, but it was rejected," the publication reported.
"Hraparak" noted that Pashinyan stressed that such a document would prevent the signing of the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace treaty.
