Decision made on Iceland-Turkiye game

The Iceland-Turkiye game of the 4th round of the UEFA Nations League may be postponed.

Axar.az reports that the game is scheduled to start today at 22:45 Baku time. However, according to the Turkish media, the pitch of the "Laugardalsvöllur" stadium, where the match will be held, is in danger of freezing before the game.

It was reported that UEFA representatives held a meeting yesterday with the Icelandic Football Federation and the persons responsible for the field. The meeting did not decide on the postponement.

However, the pitch will be inspected again today and UEFA will make a final decision on whether the game will be postponed.

It was also stated that the pitch of "Laugardalsvöllur" stadium does not have a heating system. For this reason, the square is unprotected against the danger of freezing.

According to information, if the postponement decision is made, the match will be held on October 15.

It should be noted that the city of Reykjavík, where the game will be held, has 4 degrees of frost today.
