The Israel Defense Forces released video footage showing Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Palestinian radical Hamas movement, escaping from a tunnel in Khan Younis, south of the Gaza Strip, after an attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

Axar.az reports that the video was published on the X account of the Israel Defense Forces.

"Sinwar is on the run and hiding in a network of underground terrorist tunnels. Meanwhile, the peaceful residents of Gaza are suffering from Hamas rule on the ground. There is no tunnel deep enough for him to hide," the post said.

Representatives of the Israel Defense Forces said in a briefing for journalists that the video showing Sinwar, his wife and children, as well as a person believed to be the brother of the Hamas leader, was recorded on October 10.
