Suspect detained after shooting at White House dinner -

A suspect in the shooting incident during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner reception at the Washington Hilton hotel in Washington, D.C., has been detained.

Axar.az reports, citing Fox News, U.S. President Donald Trump shared footage of the suspect’s detention on his Truth Social account.

The video shows a man lying face down on the ground with his hands handcuffed behind his back as law enforcement officers secure the scene.

The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Cole Allen from Torrance, California, a computer scientist and former teacher. He has been arrested.

According to U.S. authorities, Allen allegedly rushed a Secret Service checkpoint at the event while armed with multiple weapons and opened fire on a Secret Service officer, who was later hospitalized with injuries to his ballistic vest. Agents returned fire, and Allen was also taken to hospital.

It should be noted that U.S. President Donald Trump was evacuated from the venue along with First Lady Melania Trump and other senior officials following the security incident.
