Over 600 retired Israeli security officials, including former leaders of Shin Bet, Mossad, and the military, have signed an open letter urging US President Donald Trump to pressure Prime Minister Netanyahu to end the war in Gaza.

Axar.az, citing France24, reports that the letter argues that Hamas no longer poses a strategic threat, and that Israel has already achieved its main military goals.

They emphasize that continuing the war is eroding Israel’s security and identity, and assert that rescuing hostages and building a political solution should now take precedence over further military operations. The officials believe Trump has the credibility to influence Israeli public opinion and steer Netanyahu toward a ceasefire.

They propose that after the war, a reformed Palestinian Authority, supported by a regional coalition, should govern Gaza instead of Hamas.
