Palestinian people need “our collective action,” Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said Monday at the opening of an emergency meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Gaza.
Axar.az informs, citing Anadolu agency, speaking at the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers meeting held in Jeddah, Fidan said: “What the Palestinian people need is our collective action.”
Foreign Minister Fidan said, “The Israeli government is not seeking peace, but rather the complete eradication of the Palestinian people. We cannot allow this; they must be stopped.” He stressed that Gaza belongs to the Palestinian people.
More countries in the West recognized the State of Palestine and public opinion in the West has begun to shift, Fidan underlined.
“Step by step, the recognition of the State of Palestine is becoming an irreversible reality. Yet recognition alone is insufficient. Strong, coordinated pressure is needed to compel Israel toward a permanent solution. The upcoming U.N. General Assembly will be a defining moment," he said.
