Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Axar.az reports, citing TASS, during the call Putin informed him of the key outcomes of the recent Russia–U.S. summit in Anchorage.
The Iranian president, in turn, expressed support for diplomatic efforts aimed at a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.
“A number of pressing issues on the bilateral agenda were addressed, including in energy and transport,” the Russian side’s statement said.
The presidents of Russia and Iran also discussed the situation regarding Iran’s nuclear program and developments in the South Caucasus.
The leaders agreed to meet at the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in China.
The summit is scheduled to take place in Tianjin from August 31 to September 1.
