Ships of Russia’s Caspian Flotilla set out to sea to carry out practical tasks as part of a command-and-staff exercise.

Axar.az informs the maneuvers were led by the flotilla commander, Rear Admiral Oleg Zverev.

The press service stated that the main goal of the maneuvers was to ensure the safety of maritime economic activities and shipping in the Caspian Sea. Special attention was given to the actions of the units when solving non-standard tasks.

During the exercise, coordination between the command staff and the units in managing flotilla forces at sea was practiced. Modern and advanced types of weapons and military equipment were used for these purposes.

In late August, the Northern Fleet conducted comprehensive exercises in the Kara Sea, which involved intercepting a violating vessel and detaining its crew.
