Record dissatisfaction with Merz’s government in Germany

Public dissatisfaction with the government led by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has reached a record high.

Axar.az, citing the Bild newspaper, reports that the INSA Institute for Social Research conducted a new poll.

The survey results show that 66% of respondents are dissatisfied with Merz’s cabinet — three percentage points higher than in a similar poll conducted on October 10.

Only 25% expressed satisfaction with the government’s performance, while 9% were undecided.

Additionally, nearly half of Germans (49%) believe that the ruling coalition will collapse before the end of its current legislative term in 2029, while 32% think it will survive. 19% of respondents were unsure.

The poll was conducted on October 23–24, with 1,003 participants.
