High-ranking officials and prominent public figures in New York have held secret meetings in recent weeks to discuss the possibility of President Donald Trump deploying the National Guard or other federal forces to the city.

“The discussions took place after Zohran Mamdani was elected mayor of New York. According to several high-ranking sources, city officials are concerned that the Trump administration might take extraordinary measures in response to the election outcome,” the publication reported.

It is noted that on November 5, Mamdani won the mayoral election, becoming New York City’s first Muslim mayor.
