Azerbaijani judokas win gold and two bronze in Riyadh

The judo competitions at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games are ongoing.

Axar.az reports that Olympic, world, and European champion Zelim Kotsoyev, competing in the +100 kg category, faced Saeed Sadrudinov of Bahrain in the semifinals.

Kotsoyev won the match after his opponent received three shido penalty points.

He will meet Omar Elramli of Egypt in the final.

Azerbaijan’s national judo team has won one gold and two bronze medals at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In the 70 kg category, Sudaba Agayeva defeated Khursheeda Razzokberdieva of Uzbekistan in the final to claim the gold medal.

In the same weight class, Aytaj Gardashkhanli and Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg) earned bronze medals.

Earlier, Azerbaijan’s judoka Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg) had also won a gold medal at the Games in Riyadh.
