Pakistan, Afghanistan exchange fire near Chaman border

On the evening of December 5, a shootout broke out between Pakistani and Afghan forces near the Chaman border crossing, which began with artillery strikes.

Axar.az reports that the Dawn newspaper reported this, citing sources.

The publication notes that, according to Pakistani officials, Afghan forces opened fire first from mortars into Pakistani territory. However, according to a statement by Afghan government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, Afghan forces are responding to Pakistani strikes in the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar province.

According to the newspaper's sources, the shootout began at around 10:00 p.m. local time and continued until nightfall. Three wounded people were taken to the hospital. No detailed information about the casualties was provided.
