US and regional partners review Gaza ceasefire in Miami

Representatives from the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Turkiye met in Miami to review the first phase of the ceasefire in Gaza and preparations for the second phase.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in a statement issued by the US President's special envoy Steve Whitkoff.

It was noted that progress was made in the first phase, including the expansion of humanitarian assistance, the return of hostages, a partial withdrawal of forces, and a reduction in military operations.

Regarding the second phase, regional integration measures were discussed, including the rehabilitation of Gaza, regional stability, trade facilitation, infrastructure development, and cooperation on shared resources.

The parties expressed their support for the establishment and operation of the Peace Council in the near future. The discussion considered the next steps in the phased implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Plan for Gaza.

The countries confirmed their full commitment to the integrity of the 20-point peace plan. Additional consultations will continue in the coming weeks to advance the implementation of the second phase.
