Ukraine can’t fund 800,000-strong army alone

For several years after the war ends, Ukraine will need assistance from its partners to finance the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which are the only reliable guarantor of the country’s security.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Responding to a question about whether Ukraine would be able to finance an 800,000-strong army after the war ends, Zelensky said:

“No, we are not capable of doing that. There are no financial resources. That is precisely why I am having this dialogue with leaders, because with the support of our partners, we see the partial financing of our army as a guarantee of our security.”
