France to abandon US videoconferencing services

France plans to abandon US videoconferencing services by 2027 and replace them with its own Visio application.

Axar.az reports that David Amyel, the deputy minister responsible for civil service, made a statement to the newspaper La Tribune Dimanche.

"We have become dependent on programs like Teams or Zoom. In order to ensure the security of our conversations under any circumstances, it is necessary to eliminate this dependence at the state level. Therefore, by 2027, Visio will be used for videoconferencing everywhere in France at the administrative level," the official said.

According to Amyel, Visio is made in France.
