The Department of Justice has released a massive trove of documents related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, following significant bipartisan pressure on the Trump administration.
Axar.az reports that the files contain internal communications that suggest Epstein attempted to use sensitive information to leverage or "entrap" powerful associates, according to Financial Times.
While the DOJ claims the release fulfills legal mandates, some Democrats have criticized the department, alleging that up to half of the total files (roughly 3 million more pages) remain withheld from the public.
A central focus of the release is the relationship between Epstein and Bill Gates. Emails from Epstein’s account allege that Gates had an extramarital affair with "Russian girls" and subsequently contracted a sexually transmitted disease (STD).
Epstein claimed Gates begged him for surreptitious medical help to hide the incident from his wife, Melinda. Gates’ representatives have dismissed these claims as "absolutely absurd," characterizing them as the desperate fabrications of a man frustrated that he could no longer influence the Microsoft founder.
The documents also highlight extensive interactions with Elon Musk and his brother Kimbal.
Despite Elon Musk’s previous assertions that he had very limited contact with Epstein, the emails show Musk proactively reaching out to Epstein to "let loose" at parties and requesting to visit Epstein’s private island on multiple occasions.
Additionally, current Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick is mentioned in emails regarding a visit to Epstein’s island, appearing to contradict his previous public statements about the frequency of their meetings.
