Iran denies invitation to Mecca Joint Defence Agreement

Iran has not received any official invitation to join the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement.

Axar.az informs, citing local media, that Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei made the remarks.

He denied reports that Iran had been invited to join the agreement.

It should be noted that Mehdi Rahimi, head of the Iranian Parliament News Agency, had said that Iran was invited to the Mecca pact signed earlier this month by Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Pakistan.
