British Prime Minister Andy Burnham said Ukraine has been protecting Europe’s security and stands on the frontline of efforts to keep the continent safe.

Axar.az reports, citing foreign media, that Burnham made the remarks during his visit to Kyiv.

“Ukraine has been Europe’s protector, not a drain on our security, but the frontline of keeping Europe safe.

That’s why I believe the Ukrainian people deserve not just our continued support, but our gratitude and our respect,” he said.

It should be noted that Burnham visited Kyiv, where he met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and took part in events marking the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence.
