For peace to be irreversible and lasting, discussions on the right of return of Armenians from Karabakh and Armenians who fled Azerbaijan to Armenia, as well as the right of return of residents of Western Azerbaijan and Western Azerbaijanis, must be brought to an end.

Axar.az reports, citing local media, that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this while presenting the government’s 2026–2031 program in parliament.

“This is an issue that must be resolved for the sake of the right of our generations, both in Armenia and Azerbaijan, to live side by side in peace. Peace and peaceful coexistence between the peoples of Armenia and Azerbaijan are a right that we must defend today, and we must be able to overcome any words or actions that contradict this. Armenia must stop looking for Azerbaijan in Armenia, and Azerbaijan must stop looking for Armenia in Azerbaijan,” he said.
