The TRIPP railway route will run along a line that existed in southern Armenia during the Soviet era.
Axar.az reports, citing local media, that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made the remarks while presenting the government’s 2026–2031 program in parliament.
“The railway route will run along Armenia’s southern border, along the bank of the Aras River, from Nrnadzor to Agarak,” Pashinyan said.
According to him, the railway will connect Armenia with Russia and Central Asian countries via Azerbaijan. Freight trains will travel from Aghakerak to Nakhchivan.
