Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet US President Donald Trump in Washington to discuss Iran, as Washington and Tehran resume nuclear talks.
Axar.az reports that, according to CNN, Israeli sources, Netanyahu plans to present new intelligence on Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities and outline possible military options if diplomacy fails.
Israel is skeptical about the success of the negotiations and wants any agreement to go beyond limiting Iran’s nuclear program. It is pushing for a comprehensive deal that would require Iran to halt uranium enrichment, reduce its enriched uranium stockpile, curb its ballistic missile program, and end support for regional proxies.
Iran, however, insists that talks focus solely on the nuclear issue. Trump has signaled he may accept a nuclear-only agreement, provided Iran does not develop nuclear weapons.
Israeli analysts warn that a narrow deal restricting enrichment but leaving Iran’s broader military capabilities intact would be unacceptable to Netanyahu.
The meeting follows recent military exchanges between Israeli and US officials and comes after a brief Israel-Iran conflict that disrupted earlier negotiations. Gaza and regional security are also expected to be discussed.
