On March 2, 2026, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a phone conversation with Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission.

Axar.az informs, citing the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the call, the officials discussed the growing military tensions in the region and the resulting security situation.

Both sides expressed serious concern over the situation in the region and emphasized the importance of resolving the conflict through diplomatic means.

They also praised the significant role played by Azerbaijan in the evacuation of foreign nationals from Iran, including citizens of EU member states.

The conversation also included an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest.
