Kallas condemned Iran’s drone attacks on Azerbaijan

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas condemned Iran’s drone attacks on Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that Kallas described Iran’s actions as unacceptable.

“The drone attacks carried out by Iran on the territory of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan are completely unacceptable. These attacks further escalate tensions by Iran and increase the risk of the conflict spreading beyond the Middle East.

I have contacted Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov regarding this matter and emphasized that the European Union stands in full solidarity with the government and people of Azerbaijan,” Kallas said.

It should be noted that today, drone attacks were carried out from the territory of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. One drone hit the terminal building of Nakhchivan Airport, while another drone fell near a school building in Shakarabad village.

The airport terminal was damaged, and four people were injured.
