Finland increases surveillance after drone strikes

The Finnish Defense Forces have intensified monitoring and readiness following Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian targets in the eastern Gulf of Finland.

Axar.az reports, citing Finnish media, F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets have flown over southern Finland, and Navy vessels are on heightened alert as part of a coordinated effort to ensure territorial integrity.

The Defense Forces stated: “We maintain a real-time situational picture of military activity in our vicinity and adjust our readiness as needed.”

As part of its layered air defense, Finland is prepared to respond to unmanned aerial vehicles entering its airspace, whether intentionally or accidentally. Ukrainian drones recently damaged an icebreaker and a historic building in Vyborg, roughly 40 km from the Finnish border.
