Lebanon has declared a national day of mourning on April 9 following the deaths of 254 civilians in Israeli strikes on Beirut and other cities.
Axar.az informs that this was stated in a decree issued by the country’s Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam.
“Prime Minister Salam has declared April 9, 2026, a national day of mourning for the hundreds of innocent and unarmed citizens who were killed in Israeli attacks,” the decree said.
Salam also ordered the closure of government institutions, public organizations, and municipalities. National flags will be flown at half-mast across the country. Authorities will also regulate radio and television programming.
