Lebanese, Pakistani leaders discuss attacks on Lebanon

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam held a phone conversation with his Pakistani counterpart Shahbaz Sharif.

Axar.az reports, citing Sharif’s X post, during the call, Salam expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s peace efforts and underscored the need for continued support to secure an immediate end to the attacks targeting Lebanon and its people.

Sharif, in turn, strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing aggression in Lebanon and offered condolences over the loss of thousands of lives.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advance peace efforts, including facilitating dialogue through the upcoming Iran–U.S. talks in Islamabad.

It should be noted that Israel’s attacks on Lebanon yesterday resulted in 254 deaths, prompting the declaration of a national period of mourning.
