Lukashenko: Belarus preparing for war to prevent it

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said the country was preparing for a possible war but had no intention of attacking anyone.

Axar.az reports, citing Belarusian media, that Lukashenko made the remarks on Tuesday during a meeting with the country’s security officials.

He noted that Belarus’s so-called partners had recently been closely monitoring the country’s armed forces, particularly the frequent and intensive inspections of military units across all branches of the armed forces.

“There is nothing extraordinary about this. I have openly and honestly stated that we are preparing for war in order to prevent it. We have no intention of attacking anyone,” Lukashenko stressed.
