Turkiye dismissed Deputy Education Minister

Deputy Minister of National Education in Turkiye Nazif Yilmaz has been dismissed from his post.

Axar.az informs that the decision was published in the Official Gazette following a decree signed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

By the same presidential decree, Cihad Demirli was appointed in place of Nazif Yilmaz.

The decision drew attention as it came amid armed attacks on schools in Turkiye’s Shanliurfa and Kahramanmarash provinces.

It should be recalled that on April 14, an armed attack on a school in Shanliurfa left 16 people injured. The second incident occurred on April 15 in Kahramanmarash, where a man identified as I.A. opened fire at a school, killing 9 people, including a teacher, and injuring 13 others. The attacker later killed himself. One more student later died in hospital.
