US President Donald Trump has said Washington retains the capability to rapidly destroy Iranian infrastructure, claiming US forces could “knock everything out in two days” if escalation continued.
Axar.az reports, in comments to Fox News following his visit to China, Trump said US strikes had already caused “unbelievably hard” damage to targets in Iran while deliberately sparing key infrastructure such as electricity systems and bridges, adding that further action could dismantle remaining facilities “within days.”
The president also accused Iranian officials of repeatedly reversing negotiated positions, saying diplomatic efforts had collapsed multiple times and describing Tehran’s behaviour as “unreliable” in talks.
"They were going to give us the dust, everything we wanted, and every time they make a deal, they -- the next day it's like we didn't have that conversation," he added that: "There's something wrong with them, actually, they're crazy."
Trump reiterated his position that Iran must not be allowed to develop a nuclear weapons capability, while insisting that domestic political timelines, including upcoming US elections, would not influence military decisions.
"I'm not going to let the election determine what's going to happen with respect to Iran," Trump said.
Diplomatic contacts between Washington and Tehran have stalled in recent weeks amid ongoing tensions.
