MIT busts spy network collecting sensitive information

The National Intelligence Organization of Turkiye (MIT) has dismantled an international espionage network accused of collecting sensitive information on Turkiye.

Axar.az reports, citing Daily Sabah, the network was gathering information on Turkish civil society, ethnic groups, and public officials for foreign intelligence services.

Simultaneous operations were carried out across four provinces, including the capital Ankara, in coordination with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and counterterrorism units.

Seven suspects were detained as part of the raids, including the alleged network leader, while two additional suspects were already in custody on separate charges. Judicial authorities have ordered the arrest of the seven suspects on espionage charges following their interrogation.
