Trump gathers Cabinet as Iran deal nears amid backlash

US President Donald Trump will meet his Cabinet on Wednesday as his administration moves closer to a deal aimed at ending the war with Iran, even as concerns grow among Republican allies over its terms.

Axar.az reports, citing AP, Trump says negotiations with Tehran are “largely negotiated,” but key issues remain unresolved, including Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile and the scope of any ceasefire agreement.

The emerging framework would see Iran give up uranium in exchange for sanctions relief, though details on implementation are still being discussed.

Several Republican lawmakers have warned that the deal may be too favorable to Tehran, arguing it could allow Iran to rebuild its military capabilities.

Trump has also linked the broader diplomatic effort to expanding the Abraham Accords, urging additional Middle Eastern countries to join as part of a wider regional settlement.
