US military kills drug trafficker in Pacific strike - Video

The U.S. military conducted a lethal strike Monday against a vessel operated by designated terrorist organizations in the Eastern Pacific, killing one alleged narco-terrorist and leaving two survivors.

Axar.az reports, citing SOUTHCOM, the operation was carried out by Joint Task Force Southern Spear at the direction of its commander, Gen. Francis L. Donovan.

Intelligence indicated the vessel was traveling along known narco-trafficking routes and was engaged in drug-trafficking activity.

“One male narco-terrorist was killed during this action, and there were two survivors,” the command said in a statement posted on X.

Following the strike, SOUTHCOM said it immediately notified the U.S. Coast Guard to activate search-and-rescue operations for the survivors. No U.S. military personnel were harmed.

The operation is part of ongoing U.S. military efforts targeting suspected drug-trafficking networks operating in the Eastern Pacific region.
