UK-Poland pact to focus on Russia threat

Poland and the United Kingdom consider Russia a long-term strategic threat.

Axar.az reports, citing Reuters, that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk made the remarks before departing for London to sign a new defense and security treaty with the United Kingdom.

“Both sides emphasize that Russia is a strategic threat, also a long-term one, for Poland, for Great Britain, and for NATO,” Tusk said.

He added that cooperation between the two countries should focus on strengthening security against the Russian threat.

According to Tusk, a significant part of the agreement will also focus on cybersecurity.

It should be noted that Britain and Poland are key allies of Ukraine, while Warsaw says its role as a hub for military aid to Kyiv has made it a target for Russian espionage, cyberattacks, and disinformation.
