Armenia could receive gas via transit deal

A transit gas pipeline could pass through Armenia’s territory, allowing the country to receive gas as payment for transit services.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made the remarks during an interview with Armenia TV.

“We will no longer rely on a single route, a single ally, or a single pipeline. Today we already have a railway from West to East. A gas pipeline will pass through Armenia, and through this transit we will have our own gas, because we will be paid in gas for transit,” the Armenian Prime Minister said at an election campaign rally in the Kotayk region.
