10 vessels drift away after ice movement in Yakutia

In Russia’s Yakutia region, 10 vessels drifted away from the shore and were carried downstream after sudden ice movement on the Indigirka River.

Axar.az reports that the information was released by the regional Ministry of Ecology.

According to the ministry, cables and chains securing the vessels to the shore snapped as the ice began to move.

Officials said the situation is under control.
