The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced the interception and destruction of an enemy drone in Iran’s territorial waters.

Axar.az reports, in a statement, the IRGC said that "Early in the morning, a MQ-1 Predator belonging to the 'aggressor U.S. military' entered Iran’s territorial waters with the intention of carrying out hostile operations."

"It was immediately detected, tracked, and targeted by IRGC air defense missile systems before being shot down," the statement read.

The statement added that the drone was engaged and destroyed without delay after entering Iranian territorial waters.
