Budanov: Russians unprepared for mass drone strikes

Ukrainians' expanding drone campaign has caught Russia off guard.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, Ukrainian military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov made a statement.

“Russians were mentally unprepared for the possibility that drones — and sometimes missiles — would start arriving on a massive scale,” Budanov said.

He described the attacks as a shock to the Russian public, arguing that many Russians believed their country was immune from such threats.

“For them, it’s a shock. Their society is not ready for anything like this and does not want to accept it,” he said.

Budanov added that Russians had long viewed their country as untouchable because of its military power.

“They believed this could never happen because they are very strong, very powerful, and everyone fears them. Turns out, that’s not the case,” he said.
