U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said it disabled an oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman late on June 9 after the vessel violated an ongoing blockade linked to Iranian oil transport routes.
Axar.az reports, citing CENTCOM, U.S. forces targeted the Palau-flagged M/T Settebello at 11:14 p.m. local time after it continued transiting the area despite repeated instructions to comply.
A U.S. aircraft struck the ship’s engine room with precision munitions to halt its movement.
CENTCOM stated that since the blockade began on April 13, it has disabled eight vessels deemed non-compliant, redirected 134 ships that complied with instructions, and allowed 42 vessels carrying humanitarian aid to pass through the area.
