Lukashenko gifted red Jersey cow during farm visit

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko was gifted a red Jersey cow named Musya during his visit to the Yachenka dairy complex of BelInterGen-Agro in the Uzda district, Belarus.

Axar.az reports, citing BeLTA, the company presented the cow as part of its efforts to develop breeding livestock. While the farm mainly specializes in Holstein cattle, it has recently started breeding Jersey cows, known for producing milk with high fat and protein content.

Jersey cattle are a smaller dairy breed that require less feed due to their lower body weight while producing up to 30 liters of milk per day, according to the report.

The farm’s Jersey breeding program began with another cow also named Musya, which lived for 11 years. Officials noted the symbolic coincidence that the cow presented to Lukashenko carries the same name.
