Swedish envoy summoned to Russian Foreign Ministry

Swedish Ambassador to Russia, Anna Kristina Theresa Johannesson, has been summoned to the Russian Foreign Ministry on Monday, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, Zakharova said the Swedish ambassador would be reminded of Stockholm's obligations under the Vienna Convention and of the assurances previously given by the Swedish side.

She stated that the Russian Embassy in Sweden and its diplomats are facing "not just a theoretical threat, but literal physical drone attacks deliberately targeting the embassy's premises."

According to Zakharova, such incidents have been occurring on a regular basis.

Earlier, Russia sent a diplomatic note to Sweden's Foreign Ministry following the latest attack on its diplomatic mission, Russian Ambassador to Sweden Sergey Belyayev told Vesti on July 2.

Belyayev said Russia expects the Swedish authorities to provide timely information on the results of the investigation.
