CENTCOM confirms two US troops killed in Jordan

Two U.S. service members were killed while defending against Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks in Jordan.

Axar.az reports that U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the casualties in a post on X.

According to the statement, the troops were killed in action on July 17, while one additional service member remains missing.

"Four American service members were medically evacuated to Jordanian hospitals. They have since been discharged. Other personnel who were evaluated for minor injuries have returned to duty," the statement added.

The command noted that it would withhold the identities of the fallen service members until 24 hours after their next of kin have been notified.

It should be noted that on Saturday, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had carried out strikes on the U.S. Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan.
