Netanyahu rejects claims of UAE warning before October 7

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has denied claims that UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed warned him about Yahya Sinwar preparing a major operation against Israel approximately 10 days before October 7, 2023.

Axar.az reports, citing local media, that the prime minister also instructed his lawyers to sue the Haaretz newspaper and its correspondent, Shlomi Eldar.

Netanyahu said there had been no phone call between him and the UAE president between early September 2023 and October 7, when the attack took place.

He claimed that if such a call had taken place, there would be clear documentation of it. However, a review conducted by staff at the Prime Minister’s Office found no such record.
