Isaac Herzog became the new president of Israel

Isaac Herzog has been elected as Israel's 11th President, the country's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced.

Axar.az reports that Herzog won 87 out of 120 votes with the signatures of 61 Knesset members needed to win.

Note that from 2003 to 2018, Herzog served as a member of the Knesset and held several ministerial positions during that period, including the post of Welfare and Social Services Minister.
