Due to sanctions against Russia, the country's oil production within the Sakhalin-1 project has decreased 22 times - to 10,000 barrels per day.

Axar.az reports that this was said by Yuri Trutnev, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister and authorized representative of the Russian President in the Far Eastern Federal District.

He said that this affected not only the economy of the Sakhalin region but the entire Far East and Russia as a whole:

"Thus, in 2023, there will be a deficit of up to 38 billion rubles in the budget (budget of the Sakhalin region - ed)," he said.
