Kyiv will have to recognize the lost regions as Russian territory, at least temporarily.
Axar.az reports that James Stavridis, the former commander-in-chief of NATO's allied forces in Europe, said this.
He said that there are increasing signs that the conflict in Ukraine will end like the war on the Korean peninsula:
"As with South Korea in the middle of the last century, Ukraine is not strong enough to win now. Kyiv will have to temporarily recognize the lost regions as Russian territory. The Western countries will declare that not an inch of land will be given to Russia, and Ukraine will give territorial concessions. "He doesn't want to go. But Moscow won't agree to that anyway. In that case, the Russian government will get the war-torn and heavily mine-contaminated southeastern regions of Ukraine, which is not a very valuable reward."
