Permanent peace and stability in the Middle East is impossible without a just solution to the Palestinian-Israeli issue.
Axar.az reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this in his letter to Pope Francis regarding Palestine.
"It is important to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital within the borders of 1967 and take its place in the global system as an equal member of the international community. The challenges we face, including Israel's attacks on Gaza and the global impact of the Ukraine war, now in its third year, require the international community to act in cooperation and coordination.
Taking into account the recent trends such as anti-Islamism, racism, and xenophobia that threaten inter-societal peace and stability, there is a need more than ever in history for people who can create a dialogue with all parties under any conditions," Erdogan said.
